Media Director

Maureen takes the guesswork out of the client’s media plans.  As Moxie’s Client Service/Media Director, she works hand in hand with our clients to develop multi-media plans that include TV, Radio, Outdoor and Newspaper as well as non-traditional media opportunities.  She provides media analysis, media planning and placement using market research and trends for each media to ensure reaching the optimum demographic and geographic audience. Utilizing our media buying software she is then able to determine how best to utilize the client’s advertising budget, building a more efficient media plan for their dollar.

Maureen has over 15 years of media experience, including over 10 years in the cable and broadcast TV industry—having worked most of those years in sales for WHTM abc27—and the past six years as a Media Director providing media analysis, planning and buying for both local and regional clients such as Turkey Hill Minit Markets, Tristan Associates, Smith Village Home Furnishings and AmeriChoice Federal Credit Union.

A Little Inside Info

What activities do you enjoy and why?

In the warmer months, I love working outside in the yard in my flower beds.  To me, there’s nothing like getting your hands dirty in the soil, cranking up the tunes and losing yourself in the simplicity of it all.  Plus the end result is so beautiful!

What are you most proud of in your career?

Being a ‘go-getter’!  The last of eight children, I started working at the age of 15.  I then went into retail right out of high school while I decided what I wanted to do next.  I worked my way up into management and supervision and eventually became a Divisional Sales Trainer for over 220 stores in the Northeast region for a women’s ready-to-wear chain.  When that position was eliminated, I had to start all over again and find a new career path.

I found myself drawn to the media world at that point and worked in sales before eventually getting into the buying end of the business.  Now I’m able to combine the years of retail, customer service sales training and media experience as I help clients achieve their goals of growing their market share through advertising and marketing.

What do you do outside of work?

Back in 1998, I became a volunteer for a local Sertoma group and was hooked instantly!  Sertoma, which stands for SERvice TO MAnkind, is a national non-profit organization that has a primary focus on hearing health education.  But, what I was most excited about was that each Sertoma club has the autonomy to provide service to mankind based on their individual communities’ needs.    I truly believe in paying it forward!

The fact that Moxie offers grants for non-profits and knowing that most of our Moxie team is involved in helping their communities by either sitting on various non-profit boards or doing hands-on service are a couple examples of why I’m proud to be a part of the Moxie team!
