Julie Lando
About Me
As the founder and President of an award-winning, full-service strategic communication, advertising and marketing firm in York, Julie Lando brings vast experience to the region. With over 17 years of marketing experience and a proven track record in creating and managing brands, creative direction, media planning/buying and public relations, Julie returned to her hometown of York to create an agency that was unique to the market and offered the best of what boutique and big business approaches to marketing have to offer (the boutique side is connected, creative, cutting-edge and agile while the sophisticated business side is capable of building multi-faceted national branding strategies and complex media buys).
Under Julie’s leadership since the company’s inception in January 2008, her company has secured work from national accounts (including Marvin Windows & Doors); several regional accounts in South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Maryland; and local accounts such as York Wallcoverings, Martin’s Potato Chips, WITF, Morgan Collins Realtors, Inc., York County Heritage Trust, York County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Jewish Community Center, Wagman Construction and Americhoice Federal Credit Union to name a few.
Julie’s expertise crosses multiple industries with an emphasis on the luxury and building supply markets, while her mission is to help clients achieve desired business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) results through carefully-crafted integrated communications programs. Part of the success of her company and fast-paced growth is attributed to positive client referrals – they are a majority of Moxie’s client base.
Julie’s approach to her clients and business has earned her and Moxie the following recognitions: “Women of Influence” winner by Central Penn Business Journal (2010); Governor Rendell’s “Best 50 Women in Business” (2009); “Forty under 40” winner by Central Penn Business Journal (2009); finalist in Central Penn Business Journal’s “Emerging Business of the Year” (Fall 2008) and winner of York’s Downtown Inc’s “Outstanding New Business” (Summer 2008) as well as numerous International Creative Awards for outstanding design.
Prior to forming the Agency, Julie served as Director of Marketing for King Jewelers in Aventura, Florida where she successfully helped the jeweler’s business double in annual sales while increasing both penetration and market share throughout South Florida. Through her public relations efforts, Julie was able to secure exposure on the covers of national magazines and in music videos while forging relationships with celebrities including Gloria Estefan, Lauryn Hill and the Fugees, and Jamie Foxx.
As a result of her initiatives, Julie was honored as a Finalist in the 2006 Up & Comers Awards by the South Florida Business Journal. She was also the two-time winner of Retail Marketer of the Year (2002, 2003) by Town & Country Magazine and Couture Jewelry Collection & Conference for marketing programs that included Dan Marino while she was Director of Special Projects at Levinson Jewelers.
Over the years, she has also worked with national brands including Conagra, Healthy Choice, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Andersen Windows, Harry Winston, Breitling, Tag-Heuer, Chopard, Chanel, Roberto Coin and Merrill Lynch as well as regional and local companies. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business and political science from the University of Florida and is a graduate of York Suburban High School. Julie sits on the boards and committees of various nonprofit organizations.
A Little Inside Info
Why is your photo location your favorite York destination?
The Capitol Theatre at the Strand is a beautiful, historic building that is the home to CapLive and the Capitol Cinema. Being a big live music and movie fan, it’s the perfect place to meet friends and spend an evening.
What are you most proud of? What are you most proud of in your career?
My three children (Cooper, Peyton & Parker) are my greatest accomplishment. Seeing them happy and smiling is better than any award or work accomplishment I’ve ever had. (Especially when Peyton is eating brownies and ice cream.) Please note: my daughter made me write this or would disown me.
In my career, I’m most proud of the team I’ve built and the reputation we’ve earned of always doing what we say we are going to do.
What is your favorite meal and/or snack food?
A combination of movie popcorn (no butter) and milk duds with a glass of Turkey Hill Diet Iced Tea could be the perfect food and drink combination ever created.
